How to reset the Administrator Password for Plesk?

If you lost your Plesk Administrator Password, you can reset this with an SSH or Remotedesktop-Connection.

For Linux:

If you lost your password for your Parallels Plesk Control Panel. You can reset the password via SSH with an SSH client of your choice. When you are connected use this command:


/usr/local/psa/bin/init_conf -u -passwd <new_password>


Please Replace " <new_password> " with your new Admin-password.

For Windows:

Connect via an Remotedesktop-Connection to your server and open up the commandpromt (Start > „cmd“ [Return]) and use the following command:

"%plesk_bin%\plesksrvclient"<new_password> -set <new_password> true

Replace it with the desired Admin-Password.
